Pick me!
If you're looking for a new pet, please visit the SPCA
rather than a pet shop or breeder. Not only will you save a life –
when you adopt a pet from the SPCA you know you are getting a healthy animal.
Every dog and cat offered for adoption has been thoroughly examined at our clinic, de-wormed and innoculated. We also have a strict sterilisation policy that ensures pets are only re-homed after being spayed or neutered.
Lots to choose from
Right now, we have a wide selection of lovable dogs and beautiful cats in need of good homes.
Click the links alongside to view pets currently available – or visit our kennels and cattery to find one that is just right for you! Please allow at least an hour for your visit to give you plenty of time to choose. If you already have other pets at home, consider how they would get on – our kennel staff can give invaluable advice on dogs' temperaments ... for example, whether they are good with cats, other dogs and children.
Sterilisation
All pets have to be sterilised before being allowed home with you. If you are adopting a very young puppy or kitten, you will need to commit to bringing the animal back to be sterilised when it is older.
Pre-home inspection
Before you can adopt an animal from the SPCA, an inspection of your property will be done to ensure that animals are placed in homes suited to their needs. To save time, please complete the pre-home form for a dog or the pre-home form for a cat. The inspection fee of R100 must be paid when submitting your application. Please pay online via credit card or EFT and bring proof of payment with you when you come to collect your new pet. This payment is deducted from the adoption fee below.

Our adoption fees include health check, sterilization,
first set of innoculations, micro chip, collar and
ID disk.

Adoption process

Choosing a pet – consider the size of your property, your children’s ages and other pets at home.

When you’ve found 'the one', spend time getting to know him. Ask our kennel staff for their assessment too.

Before you can take your new pet home, we’ll do a home check to ensure your property’s suitable for the animal you’ve chosen.

Every animal adopted must be sterilised before
going home.

You’ve paid the adoption fee, your property’s been approved, your pet’s sterilised ... home-time!
