Report : Chained or tied-up dogs

Every single owner who ties up a dog is committing an offence and can be charged. Our Inspectorate keeps reminding people of that. Please be a voice for them and do not fail to report any cases you observe. A chained dog was found tied to a van in a scrapyard in Verulam. The heavy chain belonged to a tow-truck. The dog was removed and the chain taken as evidence. This was a case won by the SPCA. The owner received a fine of R3 000, but his attitude was a nonchalant “So what?” ... more reports »
