Please investigate the breeder’s credentials when you buy a puppy and do not purchase from breeders who overbreed from their bitches and oversupply the market with unhealthy puppies likely to fall prey to a host of diseases and ailments. The SPCA is constantly having to deal with tiny underage pups far too young to be taken away from their mothers and quite unable to look after themselves.

An exhausted mother dog recently produced eight puppies that had no chance of survival. Please help us put a stop to this cruel and selfish indiscriminate breeding. Thousands of unwanted kittens and puppies are handed in every year to the SPCA. How dearly we would like to see this dreadful practice of indiscriminate breeding of any animals banned.

Backyard breeders are a curse. Whether the animals are of pedigreed stock or not, puppy farms should be closed down because they contribute to the overflow which ends up at SPCAs throughout the country.
