Report : Strangled Dog

A dog that appeared to be reasonably well looked after had been tied up in a small enclosed hot area with the chain fixed to two bricks. The empty water bowl was out of reach on top of the kennel. Desperate to free himself, the dog tried to get over a piece of fencing, became entangled, and was strangled while his little mate looked on. The companion dog was deeply traumatised. Why was he shut up in this way? Because he “kept getting out”. Why was his empty water bowl on top of his kennel on a blazing hot day? Who knows? The little mate was removed, and a docket was opened.
