As security spikes proliferate in our society, the number of dogs impaled on them grows as the animals, when distressed, try to jump over spiked gates or fences. Sometimes they can be saved, sometimes not.
An animal was caught on a spike in Chatsworth. It was rescued and treated at our hospital and then returned to its owner. It was another fireworks story… in fear and desperation, the dog had tried to leap the spiked gate.
