How you can help

It's your SPCA, so if you share our commitment to stamping out cruelty to animals and engendering respect and kindness towards all living creatures, why not get involved in whichever way appeals to you?

Here are a few ideas:

  • Make a cash donation - regardless of the amount you can afford to give, your SPCA needs ongoing funding to continue operating, and every single donation counts!
  • Collection TinsKeep one of our collection tins on your counter, if you own or manage a retail outlet or are a member of a club. Your small change makes a big difference to our Society! Contact Mary Koen on 031 5796534 or email mary@spcadbn.org.za
  • Donate pet food, blankets and other items needed at the SPCA. If you're not sure if we can use whatever you have to donate, please contact Caroline on 031 579 6500.
  • Sponsor one of our yard cats - at just R50 per month, it's a meaningful and personal way to get involved in the care of a specific animal.
  • Volunteer your time. We need volunteers for a variety of tasks, including helping out at events, sorting jumble, collecting pet food, admin and fundraising.
  • Donate unwanted clothing, books, and household items to our charity shop – this not only helps raise money to care for animals, it also helps those less fortunate to buy badly needed items at affordable prices.
  • Get a MySchool card and nominate Durban & Coast SPCA as the beneficiary. It costs you nothing, and you'll help us help animals every time you swipe the card at participating stores. If you already have a MySchool card, and you would like to use it in support of animals - it's quick and easy to change the beneficiary.
  • Use the form alongside to sign up for our free e-newsletter. We aim to form and nurture strong relationships with individuals, corporates, donors, volunteers, organisations and members – and it's very important to us that you are kept up to date with our activities.
  • Support our Coffee Cats coffee shop
  • Buy your dog and cat food, and pet care products from our Shop. We have a full range at affordable prices.
  • Leave a legacy to the Durban & Coast SPCA in your Will.
