Set in a beautifully manicured, tranquil area of the Durban & Coast SPCA is our "Garden of Remembrance". Here, owners pay tribute to beloved pets that have passed on. This is often an effective way in which to deal with your grief. When a pet dies, it may feel like your world has come to an end.
Varying emotional responses are very natural to the grieving process and this can be very confusing. If your pet is very ill and unlikely to get better, your vet may advise that it be put to sleep. This can be a very brave and difficult decision to make, but it is one of the kindest things that an owner can do for an animal.
In our Garden of Remembrance, special personalised messages are engraved on plaques - hundreds of which now adorn the gardens' walls.
