National Wills Week a big success

Initiated by the Law Society of South Africa (LSSA), National Wills Week – from 11-15 September – is aimed at creating awareness of how important it is for people to have a valid Will, especially within communities where there is little or no access to professional legal services.

One of our board members, Yvonne Boden of Garlicke & Bousfield Inc, made herself available at our premises during the week to prepare Wills for our supporters and provide advice on estate planning – all free of charge.

“We are delighted that many people came forward to take advantage of the opportunity,” Yvonne said. “And that some indicated their intention of leaving a bequest to the Durban & Coast SPCA.”

Although there was no obligation, bequests are an important source of funding for our organisation, with legacies providing capital for special projects and income generating investments. For more information about Wills and bequests, please contact Mary Koen on 031 579 6500.
